I got this via email.
In today’s social media scene, it can be quite fatal being glib. Especially since so many people are jumping onto the social media/marketing bandwagon and leveraging on networking sites like Facebook to extend their contact list. These sites often become an individual’s very own communication channel, with automatic notifications of updates and changes to (sometimes quite literally) “everyone”.
That’s why I can’t underscore enough how important it is for brands, marketers… heck, everyone, to be aware of who is included in our audience. This way, when we communicate, we are fully aware just what kind of impact it leaves on our audience (not to mention our brands – whether personal, professional or corporate!)
I’m sure there are plenty of similar horror stories in existence… this is just one of the many to serve as a grim reminder: Communicate conscientiously!
